MPMC to Host Blood Drive Soon

American Red Cross Asks All Eligible Donors to Give

 

There will be an American Red Cross Blood Drive at Maria Parham Medical Center on Friday, February 10th from 10:00 AM until 2:30 PM in the Classroom of the hospital.  Appointments are suggested.  Walk-ins will be accepted during the hours of 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM.  Donors need to be at least 17 years old (Sixteen year olds are now able to donate, as long as they have parental permission), in good general health the day of the drive and weigh at least 110 pounds.

There is a special need at this time for blood types O and B, although all eligible donors, regardless of blood type, are being asked to give.  Donors should have eaten a good meal and be well hydrated by drinking plenty of water in the days prior to donation.
